There are many fun events surrounding Canada’s 150th celebration, Canada Screams for Ice Cream is another one to add to the list! #TreatYourCommunity
This heartwarming campaign geared at supporting local youth-focused charities is the brainchild of Sobeys Inc., parent company of Sobeys, Safeway and IGA.
As a proud Canadian company, Sobeys will be hosting Canada Screams for Ice Cream at store locations across Western Canada in support of local youth-focused charities.
On Saturday, June 24, head on over to your local Sobeys, Safeway or IGA store and make a $2 donation in exchange for a tasty ice cream bar.
One hundred per cent of funds raised will provide healthy meals and snacks for more than 100 local charities across Western Canada. Sobeys Inc. will also match donations raised, to a total of $100,000.
Funds raised in Winnipeg will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.
June 24th is also the launch date for Sobeys Inc.’s Kids Paying-it-Forward program.
The program will see 150 kids from participating charities each receive $500 in gift cards to donate to a community group that has helped their family, friends or neighbours. Through this initiative, a total of $75,000 will be donated, allowing Sobeys Inc. to help Canadian charities shape future leaders and caring Canadians.
